Rosacea can feel confusing because it shows up differently from person to person. The good news: with the right plan—for gut improvement + treatments at ASPA Beauty + home routine + daily SPF—skin can look calmer, steadier, and more even over time. Here’s a clear guide to help you understand what’s happening and how we can help.
What is rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that tends to flare and settle. Common signs include:
– persistent redness,
– visible capillaries,
– flushing,
– sensitivity/heat,
– sometimes breakouts that look like acne (but aren’t).
Triggers vary (gut imbalance, heat, alcohol, spicy foods, stress, intense workouts, certain cosmetics), so keeping a short trigger diary is useful.
The four main subtypes (you can have more than one)
Erythematotelangiectatic (ETR): constant redness, flushing, and fine visible vessels—skin feels warm/reactive.
- Papulopustular: red bumps and pus-filled spots on a red background; often mistaken for acne.
- Phymatous: thickened, uneven skin (most often on the nose).
- Ocular: dry, irritated, watery eyes and lid margin inflammation—see your eye specialist if you notice these signs.
Skin–gut connection (plain English)
Traditional medicine does not know the exact cause of Rosacea. In functional/ holistic medicine, emerging research links rosacea with gut imbalances in some people (for example: low stomach acid, leaky gut, Candida overgrowth, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth or stomach bacteria like H. pylori). That doesn’t mean gut issues cause every case, but there may be a two-way conversation between the gut and the skin via the immune system and inflammation pathways. Stress and genetics also play major role.
What you can do safely for your gut:
- Consistent meals: steady blood sugar can reduce flush-y spikes.
- Fiber & fermented foods (as tolerated): think oats, vegetables, kefir/yogurt—start small if you’re sensitive.
- Watch personal triggers: spicy foods, very hot drinks, and alcohol are common; hydration helps.

Facial treatment options at ASPA Beauty
We tailor every plan to your skin type and current flare level.
1) IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Facial for persistent redness & visible vessels
What to expect: a series of sessions (typically 3–5 spaced 4 weeks apart) that target vessel chromophores to reduce background redness and improve overall tone.
Downtime & care: transient warmth/redness; strict broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily, cool compresses as needed, avoid heat/exercise for 24–48h.
2) BioRePeel protocols for texture & papulopustular presentations
Aim: support smoother-looking texture and post-flare marks while respecting a reactive barrier.
How we do it: cautious, therapist-led protocols with patch testing, shortened contact times, and generous buffering/hydration. Not every Rosacea skin is a candidate on every visit; we will time this outside of active, hot flaresand may build tolerance over 4–6 sessions.
Downtime & care: mild, short-lived pinkness; avoid heat, actives, and sun for 48–72h; elevate hydration.
Your home routine (small, consistent, effective)
Morning
- Low-foam, gentle cleanse (or rinse only if very reactive).
- Hydrating layer with humectants (glycerin, HA) + barrier lipids (squalane, ceramide-mimics).
- Daily SPF 30–50 (mineral or hybrid), reapplied if outdoors.
Evening
- Makeup/SPF removal: balm or milky cleanser; avoid scrubbing.
- Short-contact gentle cleanse (pea-sized; 20–30s).
- Soothing treatment: look for niacinamide, panthenol, oa
t/centella; - Moisturize to seal; a drop of facial oil if you run dry.
Weekly
· Skip harsh scrubs and strong fragranced products.
· If we’ve introduced exfoliation, it will be low-strength and paced—never on flare days.
SPF is non-negotiable
UV and visible light can amplify redness and break down capillary support over time. Daily broad-spectrum SPFis the number one “calm insurance” for Rosacea. Choose textures you love (fluid, gel-cream, or mineral cream) so you’ll actually use them.
